New Step Outreach in DeRidder, LA – A subordinate organization of NACC Disaster Services – has been feeding approximately 210 hot meals to the senior community throughout the Parish every Wednesday since COVID-19 started; along with the meals approximately 400 food/commodity boxes have been given out thus far. Recently, as of May 19th, New Step Outreach began its distribution of Borden Milk to not only the senior community but the general community as well as other organizations such as but not limited to: local churches, community housing authorities (section 8 housing), veteran programs and senior sitting programs.
As of now, 450 gallons have been given out; numbers have drastically increased since last Tuesday’s distribution as the need for more was clearly seen.“We would not be here finally stepping out in this small town if it weren’t for NACC…Pastor Jose & Angelica have been guiding, shaping, & teaching us for 9yrs now!” Said Mary Ann from the New step outreach.

NACC disaster services looks forward to working along with New step outreach and reach out to many more communities in Louisiana.
